Gigabyte/Aorus launches a new SSD with the Gen5 10000, however, the latter stands out for its very high performance. Indeed, thanks to the exploitation of the PCIe 5.0 interface, the brand manages to offer a model exceeding 10 GB/s of speed. This concerns both reading and writing!
Gen5 10000: Gigabyte/Aorus break the 10 GB/s barrier!
With this model, Gigabyte/Aorus is among the first to launch a PCIe 5. 0 SSD on the market. And it must be said, with this interface, the figures revealed by the brand are clearly dreaming. Indeed, it announces sequential read and write speeds exceeding 10 GB/s. We are then at ~12 Gb/s in reading against ~10 Gb/s in writing. To achieve such speeds, the brand uses a Phison PS5026-E26 memory controller. But that’s not all, since we also find an LPDDR4 cache as well as 3D-TLC memory and a PCIe 5.0 memory interface. All this allows us to offer a very powerful model, but whose figures surpass those announced by Corsair. As a reminder, the MP700 of the competitor shows 10 GB / s in reading and 9.5 GB / s in writing. Currently, the selling price is not yet known, we will have to wait to know it. However, we should not expect a cheap price. Moreover, to fully enjoy this performance, a fully compatible motherboard will be required. At the moment, only 12th generation Intel platforms are.
