Now that we’ve brought you our review of the 14th generation i9-14900K, i7-14700K and i5-14600K processors, G.SKILL has taken the opportunity to unveil a new memory kit clocked at 8400 MT/s! This memory kit consists of two 24 GB memory modules, with timings of 40-52-52-134 at a voltage of 1.40 volts. It is designed for Z790 platforms combined with a 14th-generation processor. It is of course part of the “Trident Z5 RGB” series and available in silver or black. G.SKILL has announced that this kit is also capable of being pushed to 8600 MT/s. These are very high frequencies, and you’ll need to be sure that both your processor’s IMC and your motherboard are capable of operating at this speed.

Of course, at these frequencies, data rates are impressive. At 8400 MT/s under AIDA64, G.SKILL has announced read speeds of 128.88 GB/s, write speeds of 127.03 GB/s and copy speeds of 123.83 GB/s. G.SKILL also took the opportunity to bring forward the speeds when the Trident Z5 RGB 8400 MT/s CL40 kit is overclocked to 8600 MT/s. The motherboard used for these tests is the ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore we received in the lab.

G.SKILL has not yet announced availability or pricing, although the G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB 8000 MT/s kit is currently priced at around 350 euros.
