Finally RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050?

RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti for the people?

One wonders if Nvidia is going in circles with its multiple foot changes in terms of its product strategy. While we’re all panicking, many have noticed that it’s quite difficult to find a card below the RTX 3060. AMD has just tried with its very paradoxical RX 6600 (again, the “real” price will be the key) but if there is an endangered species, it is the GTX.

Carte graphique NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti Founders Edition It is impossible to build a cheap machine because even the small volumes of GTX that appear sporadically on the market are at a crazy price. However, Nvidia has launched RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti variants, but for the moment they are reserved for laptops.

Is there really a strategy at Nvidia?

According to the very reliable leaker Kopite7kimi, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti could arrive with a GOU GA106-105 with 3072 CUDA cores and two variants of 6GB / 12GB of GDDR6 memory. Concerning the RTX 3050 it should have 2304 CUDA Cores, but via a GA107-300 GPU with a consumption that will finally be higher than the 90W expected. All this is very nice but what about the RTX 2060 12GB that Nvidia wants to resurrect? Because every day this card comes back to our ears from reliable sources. If it were to materialize, how would it be positioned? Finally, while the tension on chips is still important, what would be the interest for Nvidia to mobilize part of its production capacity on products logically more low-end? All this remains very nebulous and the arrival of these RTX 3050 / 3050Ti still seems to us very hypothetical for the moment. We will probably have to wait until 2021 to find an “affordable” range on the market.
