After two versions for socket LGA-1200 and 10th and 11th generation processors, EK offers for pre-order a Delta² TEC for socket LGA-1700 and thus for 12th generation Intel processors. This new Delta² TEC is part of the “Quantum D-RGB” series whose performances we had proposed in this article. This version is of course not an ordinary water block. We are here on a cooling system using a thermoelectric cell of Peltier type. 
A bit of theory:
Let’s start with some theory to understand the working principle of this Delta² TEC. Its operation is based on the Peltier effect, a theory according to which there is a heating or a cooling when an electric current passes through two different materials. To summarize, a Peltier cell is composed of two ceramic plates, one of which cools and the other heats. As you can imagine, in our case, the cold part will be in contact with the base of our processor and the hot part with the base of the water block which will allow to dissipate the heat. The power of the peltiers expressed in watts, differs according to the models. The more the number of watts is important the more you will get cold but the more you will have to cool the hot side. That’s why the peltiers are usually combined with a liquid cooling system to allow the best possible heat dissipation.
To make it very simple, you will cool the hot side with your liquid cooling loop and the cold side will be in contact with your processor. It will therefore be necessary to have a high performance liquid cooling loop combined with the QuantumX Delta² TEC.
EK-Quantum Delta² TEC D-RGB:
EK supplies two modules: the water block and a control unit. The idea is to offer lower temperatures than the ambient one while avoiding the arrival of condensation. For this reason, EK offers an insulating rubber cover that isolates all cold surfaces inside the PC. The Intel Cryo Cooling technology continuously monitors the peltier and the ambient temperature to adapt to these conditions and prevent condensation. An additional sensor is located inside the control unit to monitor the humidity inside the chassis and prevent dew point.
