ECM28: a low profile M.2 riser at Silverstone!

Another little quirk from Silverstone who announces a PCIe riser card offering two M.2 slots in low profile format. Here is the ECM28, a module allowing to use two M.2 from an unused PCIe slot.

ECM28: Silverstone adds two M.2 from a PCIe slot!

Silverstone ECM28 The module proposed by Silverstone has a low profile format with a height reduced to 32 mm. This allows it to fit into any case, even 1U racks. The card in question has two M.2 connectors, one with a PCIe interface (M Key), the other with a SATA interface(B Key)… Knowing that both are usable simultaneously. Note also that the SATA socket at the back of the PCB will only be used for the operation of the SSD connected to the M.2 B Key. Finally, we note the presence of a PCIe 4.0 x4 connector with a small retention latch on the back. We can therefore connect it to a PCIe x16 slot on a motherboard… Or a PCIe x4 slot. Currently, we do not know the selling price or availability. On the other hand, we know that it supports SSDs ranging from M.2 2230 to M.2 2280.

This way to the Silverstone datasheet !
