Core Ultra 5 255F seen on Geekbench!

The Core Ultra 200s were released recently (tested here), but these were the top-of-the-range models. In fact, we’re talking about overclockable processors with a number of cores ranging from 14 to 24! However, entry-level and mid-range models should arrive as early as next year. In the meantime, the Core Ultra 5 255F stood out on Geekbench!

Core Ultra 5 255F on Geekbench, slightly better than the Core i5 13600!

Core Ultra 5 255F

In terms of scores, the new Core U displays 2,653 pts in single-core mode against 13,028 pts in multi-core mode. With these scores, it is only slightly ahead of a Core i5 13600. The Raptor Lake CPU offers scores of 2,516 pts and 12,375 pts. Compared with the Core i5 14400F, this 255F is 13% on average, regardless of the number of cores.

The competition is also very tough, since a Ryzen 7 9700X, an AMD processor with 8 cores, is 29% faster in single-core mode and 38% faster in multi-core mode. The Ryzen 5 9600X, another CPU, but with fewer cores: 6 versus 10 (6P4E). Once again, AMD’s offering performs better: 32% in single-core and 23% in multi-core.

Nevertheless, these results should be taken with a grain of salt. In fact, between now and the processor’s launch, its performance may improve via firmware updates, for example. What’s more, Geekbench is still Geekbench, so it may not be the most representative test software for real CPU performance.
