Core Ultra 200 in 35W and 65W models spotted!

For the time being, Intel has only launched the unlocked Core Ultra 200 on the market. This launch was accompanied by the Z890 motherboards, but the range is not yet complete. The more affordable B860 and H810 chipsets are still missing, as are the 35W and 65W TDP CPUs. However, the latter are already the talk of the town.

Core Ultra 200: the 35W and 65W models are already the talk of the town!

The programme includes Core ultra 5, 7 and 9 with TDPs of 35W and 65W. The low-power 35W models are always distinguished by a ‘T’ suffix, while the 65W models have none.

Forget about overclocking here, as we’re dealing with processors whose multiplication coefficient has been blocked. What’s more, to keep power consumption down, frequencies have been lowered. In the case of the Ultra 9 285T, for example, the base frequency drops to just 1.4 GHz compared with 3.7 GHz for its K counterpart. Fortunately, the 65W version will run a little faster at 2.5 GHz.

Apart from this difference in TDP or frequency, there will be no change in characteristics. The number of cores remains unchanged, as does the amount of cache memory.

Finally, while the Ultra 5, 7 and 9 ranges are represented here, the big absentee is the Ultra 3 series, which replaces the Core i3s. It should also be remembered that these models are expected to be unveiled at CES in early 2025.
