The Core i9 14900KS is back in the news. Today’s topic concerns the supposed launch date of the processor in question. According to several foreign retailers, the launch date is set for March 14!

14900KS: launch on March 14?

As a reminder, with this processor, we have, vulgarly, a Core i9 14900K on steroids. While the two CPUs share the same configuration in terms of number of cores and cache memory, the frequency differs. In fact, the KS is capable of 6.2 GHz, whereas the K is content with 6 GHz. However, this extra 200 MHz comes at the expense of increased power consumption and heating. Some leaks mention consumption of over 400W at voltages of 1.5 V!

Of course, the CPU has been on the market for some time now, and PC21.fr indicated that it was available for purchase not so long ago. This time, a Hong-Kong-based reseller is telling us when it will be available. As you can see, pre-orders are open until March 14!

The CPU is also available for pre-order from other retailers, but can only be picked up in-store (caroussel.sg). The aim is to secure a CPU on launch day, thus avoiding possible D-day stock-outs.

Now, depending on the store, expect the price to be 19% to 30% higher, according to VideoCardz research. Finally, another tip: to avoid ordering the CPU at full price, it may be more reasonable to wait until after the launch, while prices stabilize.
