#CES2023: Discover Raptor Lake CPUs for laptops

If you follow the news concerning PC mobility, you know that it is during this CES that Intel launches its 13th generation of Raptor Lake CPUs for laptops. On the program, four families of processors covering the entire laptop segment. Here are the presentation slides from Intel (thanks @videocardz) which summarize the official communication.

Raptor Lake HX range for laptops

Raptor Lake HX for laptops (Extreme Performance):

This is obviously the highest end with a very secondary concern for power consumption. The first surprise is that this family has no less than 9 different CPUs. There are 3 Core i9, 3 Core i7 and 3 Core i5. The smallest of the family is an i5 already equipped with 10 cores and 16 threads, while the largest i9 has 24 cores and 32 threads at 5.60 GHz (the famous Core i9-13980HX). Concerning the consumption, all are calibrated to have the same energy consumption of 55 W at basic frequencies … But when the horses are released, it will be necessary to count on 157 W at Turbo frequencies.

Raptor Lake H (Enthusiasm):

this is the range that covers the segment of thin laptops but aimed at users seeking performance. Overall, most gaming laptops will use this family.

Raptor Lake P PC portables

Raptor Lake P (Performance for light and thin laptops):

The family that is designed for thin and light performance laptops.

Raptor Lake PC portables

Raptor Lake U (Ultra portable and Ultra standalone):

The U series that is designed for ultra portable products with very contained power consumption.
