Could this be the light at the end of the tunnel? That’s the question concerning Intel’s BMG-G31 GPU. Indeed, since the launch of the Arc B580 and Arc B570 dedicated graphics cards, we’ve been waiting for an even higher-performance version, a hypothetical Arc B770 based on a BMG-G31 GPU. The latter has been a long time coming, but things may be about to change, as this GPU is now officially supported by Intel’s VTune Profiler software!
BMG-G31 supported by VTune Profiler!
As a reminder, with this hypothetical Arc B770, Intel should be offering a board that’s a little more high-end than the current dedicated Battlemage offering. Indeed, we can reasonably expect the card to be positioned at the level of an RX 9060 XT or an RTX 5060 Ti. To achieve this, the card will be based on the famous BMG-G31 GPU, with a total of 32 Xe2 cores. Memory is based on a 256-bit bus, while VRAM capacity is 16 GB. Finally, the card’s interface would be PCIe 5.0 x16.
Now, that’s in the context of a launch in the consumer segment. But there’s no indication that Intel will do so. The Blues could simply decline this GPU on the professional segment and propose, why not, an Arc Pro B70. From a timing point of view, that wouldn’t be too crazy either. Remember that the Arc B580 saw the light of day in December 2024, a year ago.
Launching a new card now, when Xe3 iGPUs are about to make their appearance in Panther Lake, would not be very relevant. On the other hand, in the pro sector, the Blues seem to be catching on, as we reported here. The Arc Pro B50 (and its 16GB) at $450 is still a best seller on Newegg in the US, so offering a card with 32GB of memory for $1000, there’s a card to play. In contrast, the Blues have just dropped to 1% market share in the GPU sector, so Intel could take this launch as an opportunity to gain more share, even by offering a card in the consumer sector.
In the meantime, the latest rumors about this GPU point to a potential announcement at CES 2026. It remains to be seen what will actually happen.
