Bartlett Lake-S: towards a fourth-generation LGA-1700 CPU?

Intel is rumored to be launching yet another generation of LGA-1700 CPUs. In fact, according to Red Gaming Tech, the American company could be offering Bartlett Lake-S CPUs on this socket!

Bartlett Lake-S: the umpteenth refresh? Or a refresh within a refresh?

Alder Lake - Bartlett Lake-SClearly, it’s still a little unclear what this generation will offer. For the moment, only the name seems to be known. However, Intel could propose this solution as an affordable offering occupying the entry- and mid-range sectors, while coexisting with Arrow Lake.

Rumors indicate that this would be the blue giant’s answer to AMD’s new AM4 CPUs. Despite being… six years old, the AM4 continues to live on with new chips. Most recently, it was the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and 5000GT that landed on the socket.

What’s more, this would allow Blue to have a platform that is still viable (from a performance point of view), giving access to older technologies. Even though DDR5 has become widely available, some platforms still run on DDR4. Remember that with the new LGA-1851 and Arrow Lake-S motherboards, it will be like AMD: DDR5 only.

Finally, the last mystery to be solved: the name these CPUs will bear. Will Intel integrate them into its 14th gen range? Or will it prefer the new Core Ultra scheme? To be continued.
