Also at CES 2024, AMD launches four new Ryzen 5000 series processors to extend the longevity of the AM4 platform. We have to admit, this is quite a surprise. Let’s start with the Ryzen7 5700X3D, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads. This new processor is very similar to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD’s flagship processor. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D only has a slightly lower operating frequency than the 5800X3D but, good news, the MSRP is $249! So this could be an interesting offer for those who have an AM4 motherboard or want to buy one at a good price.

The AMD slides also show a Ryzen 7 5700, but without 3D-V Cache functionality. Finally, two other processors, the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500 GT, will also arrive on January 31. They will feature integrated graphics and are priced at $140 and $125 respectively. Both are equipped with 6 cores and 12 threads, but differ in terms of Boost frequency. The Ryzen 5 5600GT boosts at 4.6 GHz, while the Ryzen 5 5500GT boosts at 4.4 GHz.

Following the announcement of the 8000G processor series, this is good news for owners of an AM4 platform who haven’t yet decided to switch to the AM5 and DDR5 combo.
