The main interest of this format lies in their ultra compact size of only 18.75 mm in height. Clearly, this ultra low height allows the installation of any heatsink on the market. It’s so compact that the circuitry of the strip won’t protrude from the motherboard DIMM slot latches.
On the other hand, this is also memory that is intended for server use. We therefore find so-called ” ECC ” RAM, with an error analysis and correction system. Moreover, they are designed to operate in harsh environments with temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.
Finally, this is memory that is compatible with Intel Xeon Platinum/Gold/Silver/Bronze as well as with more mainstream processors such as Core i. On the AMD side, of course, they can also be mounted on third generation Epyc platforms.
Now, all that remains is to know the price of such a solution.
