The Gamdias brand is back in the news, not by scamming a power supply certification, but by announcing a new case. The company is unveiling a new reference with its Athena M4M Wood, a compact model featuring a rather functional space and wood veneer on the control panel.
Athena M4M Wood: a compact case with plenty of space!
With this new model, the brand unveils a compact reference with dimensions of 235 (W) x 430 (D) x 357 (H) mm. The finish appears to be good, with a walnut section on the control panel. The rest of the components are made of steel, including a mesh front panel.
Inside, you’ll be able to install a mini-ITX or micro-ATX motherboard, while there’s no real limit to the number of components… Except, perhaps, for the power supply, which, like Geometric Future’s Model 5, is housed in a vertical compartment behind the front panel. For this component, you won’t have to be greedy, since we’ve only got 15 cm of clearance in depth! For the rest, this case offers 180 mm of free height for the CPU cooler, while the graphics card is 395 mm long.
From a ventilation point of view, the nine 120 mm slots should provide a high-performance solution, with slots at the front, top and bottom, as well as at the rear. It will also be possible to fit a 360 mm watercooling radiator at the top and bottom. In any case, given its compact size, it’s a clean design, especially as it comes with three fans installed as standard.
As far as prices are concerned, they are far from exaggerated. The wood version comes in at $89.90, compared with $79.90 for the normal version, with the wood being omitted and replaced by RGB edging.
