ASUS Updates Intel Motherboards Due to Instabilities

If we were talking about MSI just now, it would seem that ASUS was the first manufacturer to deploy the patch correcting Intel’s instability problems. Whatever the case, the result is the same: updates to the boards’ bios are released to limit blue CPU degradations as much as possible, thus avoiding the instability problems we’ve been talking about for weeks.

ASUS releases bios updates for 13th and 14th generation Core i CPUs!

Broadly speaking, these updates are being rolled out using Intel’s 129 microcode. For the time being, only motherboards with Z790 chipsets are concerned. However, other chipset series should also benefit from this update at a later date.

For the time being, only ROG Maximus, ROG Strix, Z790-Creator WiFi and Z790-AYW OC WiFi boards are concerned. The full list, together with the corresponding bios, can be accessed via SafeDisk’s post on the ASUS ROG forum.

Of course, it’s more than advisable to update your motherboard, even if your CPU is already affected by these instabilities. If this is the case, you should contact Intel after-sales service to proceed with a CPU change. With your updated board, the new one should have no problems… Provided that the blueprints have correctly identified the causes of these instabilities.
