For this segment, the brand has two motherboards that can be found on the market with a little digging: the W790 WS and the W790 WS R2.0. Both are top-of-the-range models equipped with a LGA-4677 socket and a W790 chipset.
Here, we’re talking about large processors with TDPs of up to 385W, and to power them all, we can count on a profusion of VRMs with power supply stages made up of 20+2 phases.
The memory section also boasts a large number of RAM ports, with eight slots offering a maximum capacity of 2TB. Finally, the PCIe side of things is also well catered for.
However, these cards are intended for the professional world, which is why Intel vPro technology is supported. On the network side, we’re talking about 10 GbE Ethernet chips with two or even three Ethernet ports.
