At the end of last week, we learned that Asus had announced its S14NA-U12, a server board designed for AMD’s Epyc 8004 CPUs. This time, it’s ASRock Rack’s turn, and the brand unveils its SIENAD8UD-2L2Q. This card is in the same category, but is less high-end!

SIENAD8UD-2L2Q: another motherboard for Epyc 8004 CPUs!

ASRock Rack SIENAD8UD-2L2QOnce again, we find a motherboard with an SP6 socket ready to accommodate AMD’s Epyc 8004 processors. However, this model is distinguished by its format: deep micro-ATX in 9.6 “x10.5”.

Connectivity features a total of eight DDR5 memory slots. The motherboard can accommodate up to 96 GB of RAM running at 4800 MT/s. In terms of PCIe, there are two x16 5.0 connectors, while a third 5.0 x8 slot completes the picture.

The storage section features :

  • 2x M.2 in PCIe 5.0 x4
  • 2x MCIO in PCIe 5.0 x8 or 8x SATA III
  • 3x MCIO in PCIe 5.0 x8
  • 1x OCuLink in PCIe 3.0 x4

At the rear, the connectivity is particularly network-oriented. There are two 25 GbE SFP28s driven by a Broadcom BCM57414 chip. These will be backed up by two 1 GbE Ethernet units via Intel i210, while the last Ethernet unit will be used for remote management (ASPEED AST2600). Finally, there’s a VGA video output and a UID button with LED.
