As for MSI, we’re hearing that things are getting tense and that 2026 is shaping up to be the most challenging year the brand has ever faced. Indeed, the company is preparing to raise its prices and make strategic choices by exiting the entry-level sector, while motherboard lineup adjustments will need to be made around DDR4, as DDR5 has become too expensive!

MSI: Things are getting complicated, and they aren’t receiving enough GPUs from NVIDIA!

The memory crisis is a difficult situation for manufacturers to manage. Micro-Star International indicates that this year is shaping up to be particularly difficult, and for good reason: it is forecasting price increases ranging from 15% to 30% across its entire gaming product line. If these increases take place, it is mainly to offset the decline in sales volumes that the brand is facing and will face this year. On top of this, rising SSD costs aren’t helping matters, mainly due to a shortage of NAND on the market.

As for graphics cards, the brand intends to set aside the entry-level segment. Its focus is instead on mid-range and high-end offerings—specifically, the RTX 5060 and RTX 5070— which form the core of NVIDIA’s production. It must be said that NVIDIA isn’t shipping enough GPUs to meet market demand; according to MSI, this shortfall is around 20%.

As for its motherboard lineup, adjustments will need to be made here as well. Here, certain plans will need to refocus on DDR4 memory, which, although too expensive, remains more accessible thanDDR5. In fact, this has already begun, as the company announced, not too long ago, entry-level motherboards for AM4 CPUs running… on DDR4, precisely.

Finally, the server division appears to be the focus of much of the company’s attention, where growth is expected to be the strongest. MSI is targeting 50 to 100% growth over the next three to five years!
