After telling you about the RTX 4090 going Noctua yesterday, today we’re focusing on a completely different kind of assembly. The user uses a Subaru engine as a base for his machine. It’s always amusing to see that some people have a way with ideas!
A Subaru engine as a base for your PC!
As you can see, @green21135 ‘s machine is based on a car engine – it’s as simple as that. Here, we’re talking about a so-called “boxer” engine (EJ205), hence its flat shape. To mount the configuration, the user uses threaded rods to hold the motherboard tray in place.
Unfortunately, the user doesn’t give details of his configuration, although it does feature custom liquid cooling. Incidentally, the motor doesn’t just serve as a support, as the machine’s owner also uses it as a cooling system. In fact, he uses the engine’s internal channels to circulate the liquid in his system, all in a passive or almost passive manner.
However, according to him, thermally speaking, it’s not crazy. Let’s just say that he was counting on the size of the motor and the fact that it’s made of aluminum to dissipate his PC’s temperature. However, he says it was a fun set-up to make… At the end of the day, isn’t that what counts most?
