A quick demonstration of overclocking on one of Intel’s latest processors! SkyWalkerAMD pushed a Xeon W9-3595X to 5.8 GHz on all its cores, an increase of 1 GHz. It may not sound like much, but we’re talking about a 20% uplift in pure clock speed on a CPU with 60 cores!
The Xeon W9-3595X boosted to 5.8 GHz!
As a reminder, the 3595X is a processor designed for servers, but which can be overclocked. By default, this 60c/120t model runs at 4.8 GHz in turbo mode. In this particular case, the clocker has boosted the CPU to 5.8 GHz, with a 1 GHz increase in frequency!
The rest of the configuration consisted of an ASUS motherboard, a PRO WS W790E-SAGE SE and 256 GB of DDR5 memory running at 3400 MHz. As for cooling, no liquid nitrogen or other extremely cold liquid, no. The cooling system used here was a custom watercooling loop. With nitrogen, you can potentially go even further and pick up a few extra MHz or even GHz.
In concrete terms, with his system configured in this way, the test was completed in around 6.063s. This is a far cry from the record of 3s 662ms held by Splave with its i9 14900KS.
