Corsair’s dummy RAM at the same price as the real RAM from a few weeks ago

RAM is currently undergoing hyperinflation, with 32 GB kits costing in excess of €400, or even €500 depending on the model. And yet, just a few months ago, you could get your hands on DDR5 kits for less than €100 in normal times. In short, these days, it’s quite ironic to see Corsair’s “fake” RAM at the same (slightly lower) price as real memory a few months ago.

Corsair’s fake RAM at the same price as real RAM… Six months ago!

Let’s cut to the chase: Corsair markets dummy memory kits. The aim? Simply to fill empty DDR5 slots on a motherboard. To achieve this, the brand adopts a PCB without any memory chips, all covered with the same heatsink found on real memory sticks. A few pins are present to synchronize the light bar’s illumination with the rest of the configuration, and that’s all. It’s a purely aesthetic accessory of no practical interest.

But it’s an accessory that’s currently priced at around €75, with a bill close to €80 for the white kit. If you remember, first-price RAM kits could be found at around €80~90 for 32 GB a few months ago.

In view of the current trend, we simply wanted to point out the irony of the situation, where bogus memory sticks cost what real ones did a few months ago. In the end, if you don’t have memory that actually works, you can give the illusion of being RAM-armored. There’s a concept there ?.
