Panther Lake-H: an engineering model photographed!

After a first leak of the B390’s performance, we now turn to photos of an engineering copy of Intel’s Panther Lake-H processor. The processor in question and its development platform have been photographed. It features a BGA socket and LPDRR5 memory.

Panther Lake-H: photos of an engineering example!

Intel Panther Lake-HThis photo shows a Panther Lake processor whose serial numbers have been masked. Of course, the aim is to preserve the anonymity of the person who took the photos.

In any case, we’re looking at a future Core Ultra 3 with a 10-core configuration. The processor would feature two P-Cores, four E-Cores and four LPE cores. It also benefits from an Xe3 iGPU, an Arc B390 to be precise. According to initial feedback, this part seems to be very efficient, with the first 3DMark leaks encouraging us.

During testing, the frequencies reached were rather low, with a base frequency of 3.00 GHz and a boost to 3.2 GHz. These frequencies are quite normal for a system undergoing evaluation. In addition, there are four SK Hynix memory chips of 4 GB each, LPDDR5X type, running at 7467 MT/s. Once again, the memory runs under the Panther Lake target specifications… But this is a development system. As time goes by, frequencies will be revised upwards, as will RAM support, and so on and so forth.

Naturally, with thermal and power consumption constraints higher at this stage of development, the first CPU-Z scores aren’t exactly glowing. We’re talking about 531.8 pts in single-score mode versus 3516.1 pts in multi-threaded mode. Furthermore, we’re talking about scores obtained with a power consumption limit of 25W in PL1 and 65W in PL2. Here, the temperature is 100°C. If all goes well, the announcement should take place at CES, with sales scheduled for the first quarter of the year!
