RTX 5080 Ti or Super by the end of the year?

At the end of April, we learned from a Chinese forum that NVIDIA might be offering refresh versions of its RTX 5080 and RTX 5070. Although we still don’t know the names of these models, i.e. Ti or Super. However, this is the second time we’ve heard about it, and it seems that the Chameleon is preparing a launch by the end of the year.

RTX 5080 Ti or Super by the end of the year?

RTX 5080 Ti - Super

Obviously, we still don’t know what this model will actually offer on paper… At least, not at this stage, but it would seem that the latest feedback points to a card equipped with 24GB of memory, which corroborates previous rumours, unless they come from the same source. In any case, to offer such a large memory capacity quickly, the Greens simply need to use 3GB memory chips instead of 2GB. It remains to be seen whether the Chameleon will apply a change to the GPU: more Cuda cores or a higher frequency, for example.

In any case, this rumour is resurfacing at the same time as the specifications for the new RTX 5090D. There are even rumours that if the card offers similar features, it could be sold under the name RTX 5090D in China. However, this seems rather inconsistent, as it would mean a significant increase in its cuda core compared to the RTX 5080: +31%. On the previous supercomputers, we had :

  • RTX 4080 to RTX 4080 Super: +5.26%
  • RTX 2080 to RTX 2080 Super: +4.35%

With +31% cuda core, that would be a considerable increase. Of course, all these figures are just guesses. A lot can happen between now and the end of the year, and of course, if the card is in the pipeline, we’ll have more feedback to share with you.
