On February 20, we should be seeing a new graphics card from NVIDIA. The RTX 5070 Ti is due to arrive at that time. But in the meantime, we can already get a glimpse of its performance on GeekBench’s OpenCL test. In terms of performance, the card beats the RTX 4080 Super by a narrow margin!

On OpenCL, the RTX 5070 Ti has a negligible gap over the RTX 4080 Super!

RTX 5070 Ti OpenCL

In concrete terms, this RTX 5070 Ti performs rather well under OpenCL, and more specifically on the GeekBench test. In fact, the card achieves a generous score of 248,739 pts while the RTX 4080S is at 247,099 pts, an almost negligible 1% difference in favour of NVIDIA’s new card. However, compared with the RTX 5080, the 5070 Ti is outpaced by around 3.6%. It has to be said that the RTX 5080 has a score of around 259,152 pts. And if we compare it to the RTX 5090, there’s clearly no match, since NVIDIA’s spearhead is at 366,894 pts, or 47% more!

In reality, these results are clearly not representative of the card’s performance in games. OpenCL is a very specific API that is hardly ever used in video games. On the other hand, this is a synthetic test that doesn’t reproduce the workloads of video games either.

Otherwise, with this RTX 5070 Ti, NVIDIA will be offering us a card officially priced at €884 in France. Of course, given the current situation, it’s unlikely that the card will stay at this price for long, especially as the first price leaks suggest much higher prices of 1150€ or more.. Look out for MSRP cards.

As for specifications, the RTX 5070 Ti will use a GB203 GPU limited to 70 SM and 8,960 cuda core. In terms of memory, it will have 16 GB of GDDR7 running at 28 Gbps, giving a memory bandwidth of 896 GB/s. Finally, in terms of frequency, expect 2452 MHz and a TDP of 300W.
