We’ve seen that in the field of gaming displays, 4K resolution and high refresh rates are becoming the norm. The arrival of Samsung Display’s QD-OLED slabs is amplifying the trend, with several new 32″ products from HP, Dell, MSI and Asus set to be announced in the coming days at CES 2024. Among them, the most precise leak concerns a newcomer from HP, again probably equipped with a Samsung QD-OLED panel enabling 4K at 240Hz.
A host of 4K 240Hz screens for the early hours of 2024
This Omen Transcend 32 model should be officially unveiled at CES 2024. This monitor features a 32-inch size, a 4K OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, and maximum HDR brightness of 1,000 nits. It also features AMD FreeSync and Dolby Vision technology, as well as an integrated KVM switch for easy signal switching between multiple PCs or other devices. A unique feature of the Omen Transcend is the Omen Tempest Monitor cooling technology, designed to minimize the risk of screen burn-in.
In terms of connectivity, HP’s Omen Transcend 32 seems to have an advantage with the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1, unlike the Asus model which is limited to DP 1.4. HP, Asus and MSI all include secondary HDMI 2.1 ports. HP also stands out in the area of power delivery, offering 140W of USB Type-C connectivity, superior to the 90W offered by Asus and MSI. HP’s monitor will also include an additional USB-C 3.2 port, a 15W USB-C port for data connection and three USB-A 3.2 ports.
