Launch of Ryzen 5 5500X3D and 7 5700X3D in early 2024

Two weeks ago, we learned that AMD was planning to launch new CPUs for its AM4 platform. The Ryzen 5 5500X3D and Ryzen 7 5700X3D would be two new references equipped with 3D V-Cache memory. The wait for them shouldn’t be too long, as the launch is scheduled for early 2024!

Ryzen 5 5500X3D and Ryzen 7 5700X3D: AM4 is still alive!

AMD’s AM4 has certainly had a very long life. Despite the arrival of AM5, DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, AMD continues to keep its old AM4 platform alive. The 5500X3D and 5700X3D are due to arrive in early 2024.

In broad terms, the 5500X3D will feature 6 cores and 12 threads. In terms of frequency, it would operate at 3.00 GHz with a boost to 4.00 GHz. As for the 5700X3D, this would be an 8-core, 16-thread CPU running at 3.00 GHz base and 4.1 GHz boost. In both cases, 3D V-Cache memory is present, boosting total L3 to 96 MB.

But that’s not all, as other references are also planned for this AM4 platform. In fact, a non-X Ryzen 7 5700 is on the program, a simple “entry-level” octo-core CPU. We therefore expect a reference whose frequencies are lower than those of the 5700X.

Next, we hear of new APUs with the Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT. However, it’s still too early to say exactly what we’re dealing with. Our colleagues simply mention a “slight upgrade” compared to the 5600G and 5500G.

In any case, rumors suggest that all these new chips will see the light of day in early 2024, by the end of January.
