Thermalright has come up with a new solution for cooling M.2 format SSDs: the HR10 2280 Pro. As SSDs become more and more powerful, they heat up more and more. As a result, more and more efficient heatsinks are needed… To the point where they look more and more like small fans!
HR-10 2280 Pro: an active SSD heatsink with aluminum fins and heat pipes!
With this new heatsink, the brand offers an “active” cooling system. In other words, it features a fan to cool the SSD on which it’s mounted. But that’s not all: like a CPU cooler, it features a number of aluminum fins and copper heat pipes. The latter are 5 in number and measure 5 mm in diameter.
Naturally, this cooling system will be quite imposing, measuring 90.3 (W) x 23.7 (D) x 43.8 (H) mm. Depending on your configuration, height may be an issue.
As we said, cooling is provided by a small 30 mm fan, which will run from 3500 rpm to a maximum of 6500 rpm. The question now is whether it will be noisy or not.
Finally, for the assembly, we find a wide base, presumably copper, but without conviction, on which a thermal pad is present.
For the moment, no price is known, but we do know that the warranty is for one year. As for the choice of colors, black or silver are available!
