The Inno3D brand brings us new graphics cards with its RTX 4090 Frostbie Ultra and Pro. These cards are the result of a collaboration between the brand and Alphacool. While Inno3D supplies the card, Alphacool concentrates on its cooling system: the waterblock!
RTX 4090 Frostbite Ultra & Pro: two versions of Inno3D’s card!
The program features two rather compact cards… At least, much more compact than the air-cooled models. In fact, once fitted with their waterblock, these Ultra and Pro models occupy just two and one slots in a PC case, while offering a limited length. The Ultra is 223 mm long, while the Pro is 208 mm… The advantages of custom watercooling…
However, the two versions are available because the waterblocks are not identical from one board to another. The ultra model features edge-mounted terminals, as is common practice. On the Pro model, on the other hand, the waterblocks migrate to the rear of the card. The aim is to offer a reduced height: 134 mm vs. 161 mm.
Otherwise, in both cases, both boards feature a full-cover waterblock cooling the GPU, memory and power supply stages. While the base is made of copper, the upper part is transparent in one case, compared with a carbon-fiber effect in the case of the Frostbite Pro.
Finally, in terms of frequencies, we find a Pro version operating at reference frequencies. The GPU offers a boost to 2520 MHz, compared with 2595 MHz for the Ultra version.
As for the price, we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out.
