Chieftec has announced an update to its PC cases. The Scorpion and Stallion series models will benefit from newer USB ports. Indeed, the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type C makes its appearance on these models. In the case of Scorpion 3 and 4, the brand replaces the old USB 2.0 with this new connector. As for the Stallion 2 and 3, only one of the two ports will be replaced.

The approach is interesting since it adds a newer and especially faster connector. Compared to the 2.0 standard and its 480 Mbps, the speed is now 20 Gbps, a big difference.

Otherwise, we learn that the company will proceed to this replacement in a progressive way. During a time, the old versions of the boxes will cohabit with the new ones before being completely replaced. This change will begin in June. Only the Stallion 3 will start to be deployed later, in July.

Finally, the brand says that to be sure to have an updated version, you’ll need to make sure you have a “UC” suffix in the reference. GL-03B-UC-OP, GL-04B-UC-OP, GP-02B-UC-OP and GP-03B-UC-OP are the models concerned!
