In September 2022 the Cougar brand unveiled a new high-end case: the Cratus. This model, which could be described as being in the tradition of the Conquer was not yet on the market, but its technical specifications were known. Now, via Newegg, we can have an idea of the selling price: $499.99!
The Cratus from Cougar sold for ~$500 !
As a reminder, with this case, the brand unveiled a model combining open frame and tubular design. In addition, tempered glass panels are present, sometimes rounded, as for the front panel, in short, it sends.
However, the case will not be compact with its 283 (W) x 635 (D) x 636 (H) mm nor light since it weighs nearly 15 kg. That said, this allows the brand to integrate an E-ATX motherboard as well as the graphics card 460 mm in length, 325 mm with a watercooling radiator next to the motherboard. Otherwise, we have 190 mm height for the CPU cooler and 180 mm for the power supply.
Regarding cooling, we have up to nine slots for 120 mm fans. For watercooling, compatibility with 360 mm radiators is ensured on the side of the motherboard and on the top. Otherwise, on the front, we’ll settle for 240/280 mm models.
Finally, we will retain the presence of four tempered glass panels. To facilitate the cabling, a velcro system is present and we find a metal cover to hide the cables and the 3.5″ hard drives!
For the price, as we told you : $499,99 clearly, Cougar positions its case as a very high-end model. After that, you have to be sensitive to the design.
