The SiSoftware database is back in the news with an entry featuring the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. As a reminder, this is AMD’s next and last X3D CPU.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D: already spotted on SiSoftware!
On the agenda, this CPU will be a model with eight Zen 4 cores running at up to 5.00 GHz boost. However, unlike other X3D models, such as the 7900X3D and 7950X3D, this one only has an eight-core chiplet. With this, we get 3D V-Cache pushing the amount of L3 cache to 96 MB.
In short, on SiSoftware the CPU scores a combined 395.07 GOPS. In broad terms, this puts the processor 37% above the older generation Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Furthermore, against other more current models, the processor is positioned between the Ryzen 7 7700 and the Ryzen 7 7700X.
All that remains now is to see how it performs in gaming, its supposed field of predilection. In this sector, we expect the CPU to deliver a lot. Extrapolating from that, if a 5800X3D was at 12900K, we can assume that the 7800X3D will be at 13900K.
For pricing, it looks like we’ll have to go with $446 for an April 12 launch. This would put it above the 7900 non-X, a 65W model.
