In the world of consumer gaming keyboards, the Cougar brand launches its Puri Mini. These are ultra-compact 60% models, one with full RGB lighting, the other not. However, the brand takes care of its new model. To make your mouth water, we’ll talk about lubricated switches, keyset with DSA profile or PBT!
Puri Mini: a 60% but neat keyboard!
With this new keyboard, Cougar offers us an ultra compact model, in 60%. To put it simply, we only find the alphanumeric zone since the numeric keypad, the navigation keys and the function keys are absent.
Nevertheless, this is a mechanical keyboard with switches from Gateron. Here, the brand offers two different feelings with linear in red and clicky in blue. Moreover, Cougar states that the switches are lubricated to improve smoothness and reduce noise to a minimum. However, this only concerns the red switches.
With this, we can count on a keyset in PBT double injection for a better durability in time. However, the non-RGB version has a DSA profile set. Simply put, each key has the same height but with a larger space between the keys than with an OEM profile of 6.5mm versus 4.5mm. The goal is to avoid pressing two keys at the same time.
Finally, we note the presence of foam and a seal to improve the sound insulation of this keyboard. In use, the case should not act as a sound box.
Of course, these are also keyboards dedicated to gamers. So we find some features in this direction: N-Key Rollover, several profiles, etc.
