This information comes from China. An OEM version of the RTX 3050, dedicated to the integration of PCs (and therefore not available for sale to the general public) would be launched by Nvidia. According to the leaked information, this version of the RTX 3050 can be found in two variants with either the GA106 GPU or the GA107 GPU. In both cases, these two sub-versions would have the same specifications of 2560 CUDA cores, 80 TMU and 32 ROP. If this data sheet is confirmed, it means that this 3050 would have 10% fewer CUDA cores than the original version. Continuing on the data sheet, we also learn that the Base / Turbo frequencies would be slightly lower with 1.51 / 1.76 GHz where the original version displays 1.55 / 1.78 GHz. The rest of the characteristics (including memory) would be unchanged.

RTX 3050 OEM: what is it for?

We must now ask ourselves what the point of this card is, as it could be cut by almost 5 to 10% in performance compared to the original version. Is Nvidia trying to clean up its stocks by offering cards to big PC manufacturers with substantial discounts? It’s hard to say what the logic of the story is, but it seems obvious that the only “loser” will be the end customer who thinks he has a card when it’s a more limited version.
