A pre-release sample (ES ) of an Intel Core i5-13600K processor has been spotted on CPU-Z. The i5-13600K should offer a configuration with 14 cores and 20 threads (6x P-Core + 8x E-Core). Its Turbo frequency would oscillate between 4.90 / 5.10 GHz for the P-Core against 3.90 GHz for the E-Core. A notable improvement in performance is expected compared to the 12600K since we are facing a CPU with 4 cores + 4 additional threads . Obviously, this configuration implies that its maximum power consumption (PL2) would be about 228W compared to the 150W of the 12600K. However, the version tested here in the benchmarks reaches 176W. The final version that will be available for sale should be optimized to remain at 160W. It is also stated that all the high performance cores of the CPU reached a temperature between 73 and 78ºC, while those with low power consumption were very stable between 73 and 74ºC…However, we do not know the cooling system used for these tests.

Core i5-13600K Without having an explanation, we find out that the 13600K was pitted against the Ryzen 9 5950X. Under CPU-Z it obtained a single-core performance of 830.4 points, making it 28% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. Of course, in multi-core it got 10031.8 points, which is 18% lower performance than Ryzen 5950X. Under Cinebench R23, the gap is much stronger. Nevertheless, if we compare this i5-13600K to its predecessor Core i5-12600K, the future Intel CPU gets an 8% improvement in single-core performance, while in multi-core there is a jump of up to 79%.
