We have seen it here, but the IHS of Intel’s Alder Lake CPUs can be bent (sometimes even the socket). This phenomenon appears randomly and it is mostly related to the new LGA-1700 socket which puts more stress on this part. Nevertheless, facing the inaction of Intel on this subject, Thermalright takes the lead. The brand announces its Bending Corrector Frame!
Bending Corrector Frame: the IHS will not bend anymore!

So, Thermalright announces an accessory that corrects this problem of torsion of the IHS of Intel CPUs. As you can see, it is an aluminum frame with CNC machining. In fact, it will replace the locking system of the original socket by screwing directly on socket. Once in place, we imagine that this frame will exert a uniform pressure on the whole CPU. Then, the heatsink comes to be assembled in a traditional way on the processor.
If this accessory is not excessive in terms of price: 39 yuans ($6 roughly), it is on the warranty side that things get stuck. Intel itself said:
“We strongly advise against any modification of the socket or the independent charging mechanism. Such modifications would cause the processor to operate outside of specifications and could void all product warranties.”
It’s up to you to see if it’s worth the risk.
