The rest of the Alder Lake range will be presented in the next few days (January 4) at the opening of CES 2022. However, while the information about these processors is still under embargo, precise tests of the Core i5-12400, Core i3-12300 and Core i3-12100, have been published on Chiphell. We already have quite a few hints about the Core i5-12400 which will undoubtedly be a CPU of choice in the coming weeks, but it seems that the i3 series which includes the i3-12300 and i3-12100 processors (4 Golden Cove cores and 8 threads) is also worthy of interest.
The platform used for the tests was composed of an ASRock Z690 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard equipped with DDR4-4266 memory (8 GB x 2), all associated with a RX 6800 XT Taichi. For comparison, there was an ASRock X570 Taichi in front, while the rest of the elements (Ram, VGA and cooling) remained the same.
What do these tests of the i5-12400, Core i3-12300, Core i3-12100 give?
The synthetic benchmarks are a confirmation for the Intel Core i5-12400. The i5 chip is above or equal to the Ryzen 5 5600X but let’s not forget that the price of this CPU should be about 50-55% below its red competitor.
Concerning the Core i3, it was difficult to find a really available AMD competitor. So it was the Ryzen 3 5350G, a Zen 3 purce with 4 cores and 8 threads that took on the Core i3 processors. The Intel chips outperformed the 5350G with gains of up to 26%.
When it comes to gaming performance , the results are balanced between the i5-12400 and the Ryzen 5600X. On the other hand, the Core i3 are far ahead.

You can find all the benchmarks on the Chiphell forum here and there.
