X080 & X060: two Sapphire cards intended for mining!

0

After telling you about the 6900 XT LC which ended up in a mining rig, we go back to the area. Indeed, El Chapuzas Informatico informs us that GPUs dedicated to mining are out from AMD/Sapphire. The number 1 partner of AMD announces the GPRO X080 and GPRO X060… Well, obviously, it was supposed to be an announcement in secret, missed.

X080: a GPU of RX 6700M boosted for mining!

Sapphire GPRO X080With this model, we find a card with a Navi22 GPU containing 2304 stream processors running at 2132 MHz. The chip is also supported by a total of 10 GB of GDDR6 clocked at 16 Gbps coupled with a memory bus of 160 bits, a bandwidth of 320 GB / s. Clearly, this is an RX 6700M adapted to the PCIe format.

In terms of performance, Sapphire announces 38.05 MH/s for a consumption of 165W. However, by optimizing the GPU, it will be possible to go up to 41.6 MH/s with a consumption of 93W, at least that’s what they say.

Otherwise, no video output and for the power supply, an 8-pin PCIe connector will be necessary.

GPRO X060: a RX 6600 with a minor sauce!

Sapphire GPRO X060This second model uses the Navi23 XL GPU currently used in the RX 6600. This chip contains 1792 SP running at 2400 MHz. As for the memory, it won’t be as high as the X080, but we can count on 8 GB of GDDR6 at 14 Gbps and a 128-bit bus. As you can see, the bandwidth is 224 GB/s.

In terms of performance, inevitably, with a smaller GPU, the hashrate decreases. On this subject, we are talking about 27.8 MH/s for 100W of TGP. Once again, an optimization is possible to reach 29.4 MH/s for 60W of power consumption.

For the power supply, you will need a single 8-pin PCIe connector, a classic. However, this model is distinguished by the presence of an HDMI and DisplayPort output. This raises the question of whether the card could be converted into a gaming model later on. Would a bios flashing be possible? We only ask the question.

Prices

Now we come to talk about the selling prices since the GPRO X080 would be displayed at 750 € against 550 € for the X060. These prices are really inflated, especially when you know that an RX 6600 is $360 in advertising price.

For the availability, clearly, we should not expect to see this type of device land at our traditional retailers. In fact, our colleagues indicate that these cards are sold directly to large mining farms.
