For the moment, Alder Lake-S platforms in Z690 in mini-ITX format are not numerous… Far from it. Until now, we could only count on the offer of Asus with the StriX Z690-I Gaming. However, ASRock enters the game with its Z690M-ITX, a more affordable model.
Z690M-ITX: a new Alder Lake-S mini-ITX card!
With this model, the brand offers us a very small motherboard with its mini-ITX format. Of course, the connectivity will be reduced to a single PCIe x16 5.0 connector. The storage part will only include four SATA III and two M.2 in PCIe x4 4.0. In short, the usual connectivity for this kind of format.
From a power supply point of view, this model features a total of 8 phases with DrMOS in 50A. Moreover, the processor will benefit from a single EPS12V with 8 pins, but it is difficult to put more on a small surface like this.
The memory part will be in DDR4 and will be able to accommodate a total of 64 GB of RAM clocked at 5000 Mbps.
At the back, ASRock puts forward a dual Ethernet driven by Dragon RTL8125BG and Intel I219V chips. Moreover, we will also have the right to WiFi 6E. For audio, the brand puts forward a Realtek ALC897 chip. Finally, we will not fail to notice the small DIY of the brand concerning the flashback bios part mounted on a vertical board.
We finish with the prices which are around 315 € – 330 € depending on the store.
