Gigabyte’s high-end motherboard, the Z690 Aorus Extreme, is slowly being announced. The brand recently published the technical specifications of its model on its internal website. So, what are we dealing with?

Z690 Aorus Xtreme: the veil lifts on its characteristics!

Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme

With this model, the brand offers us a nice baby in E-ATX format. The card is therefore larger than a more classic model, so be careful with your case. Anyway, the visual is neat and this model displays many covers and other heatsinks. Special mention to the RAM cover to harmonize the design.

Speaking of RAM, this reference comes with four DDR5 slots that can accommodate up to 128 GB of RAM clocked at 6600 MT/s. The rest of the connectivity will include two PCIe 5.0 x16 as well as one 3.0 standard. Beware, if they display an x16 connector, depending on the number of graphics cards, they will run slower: x8/x8/x4.

The storage part puts forward four SATA III 6 Gb/s, considering the range of the card, it is not much. However, keep in mind that storage is increasingly turning to M.2. Speaking of M.2, the card has four PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, one of which is covered by a large heatsink with aluminum fins.

Now that all this is said, let’s specify that this Z690 Aorus Xtreme has 20 + 1 + 2 power supply phases. These have SPS in 105A and are cooled by heatsinks with aluminum finned heat pipes. The heat transfer is favored by a thermal pad of 9 W/mK. Finally, the CPU benefits from two 8-pin EPS12V.

For the moment, no price, but it will be soon. For the price, we can expect a bill higher than the €900 of its Z590 counterpart.

Edit: we are whispering that the motherboard is already available on Amazon for some time. For the price, count between 950 € and 1100 € according to the periods and the stocks we imagine.
