For its part, the Gigabyte brand announces the arrival of two motherboards. On the program, we have the right to the Z690 Aero D and G, cards intended for creators and enthusiasts according to Gigabyte.
Z690 Aero D: high-end in E-ATX!
With the Z690 Aero D Gigabyte offers us a large motherboard in E-ATX format. With this model, we have a high-end reference with a devastating look. However, we can also count on a power supply part displaying 16 + 1 + 2 phases. However, for the CPU part, we have two EPS12V in 8 and 4 pins.
The connectivity shows four memory slots in DDR5 for a capacity of 128 GB in 6400 Mbps.
At the level of the PCI express, we find a first port in x16 functioning at the 5.0 standard. The second one, also x16 5.0 will work in x8 while the last one, a PCIe 3.0, will work in x4.
The storage part has an M.2 22110 connector with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. The latter will take advantage of the processor’s lines directly. Otherwise, there are two M.2 22110 connected to the chipset with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. A third M.2 22110 is also connected to the chipset, but offers SATA and PCIe 4.0 x4 interfaces. Finally, six SATA IIIs complete the package.
At the back, we have an audio part with an ALC4080 chip. On the Ethernet side, there are two RJ45 sockets with Marvell AQtion AQC113C in 10 GbE and Intel in 2.5 GbE. A third network interface is present via WiFi 6E AX210, and we should not forget to mention the presence of Thunderbolt 4 via USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C.
Z690 Aero G: an ATX card with DDR4 memory slots!
The G model is a more basic model since we do not have a DDR5 memory slot, but DDR4. However, in view of the current status with the new memory standard, it may be interesting to opt for a reference of this kind. In addition, this version seems to share the same number of power stages as the D.
In terms of connectivity, it is also less provided. Certainly, we have a PCIe x16 5.0, nevertheless, the following are to the 3.0 standard and will run in x4. Moreover, for storage, we find the same options.
Finally, in terms of audio, this model provides a Realkek ALC4080 chip. For the Ethernet, we have the right to an Intel chip in 2.5 GbE and WiFi 6 AX201. Exit the 10 GbE. Similarly, there will be no Thunderbolt with this model. In short, you will have understood, even if the prices are unknown, this model will be more affordable.
