The XPG PCIe 5.0 we already told you about here but this time, the brand officially launches its SSD, just before the CES. And the little surprise concerns its cooling system, active, with a small fan!
XPG PCIe 5.0 : an SSD with active fan !
As a reminder, with this new model, ADATA offers us an SSD with a PCIe 5.0 interface, and internally, it also contains a SiliconMotion SM2508 memory controller. The performance will be at the rendezvous since we will have the right to sequential speeds in read / write of 14 GB / s. In terms of random performance, same story, big numbers with 2 million IOPS in read/write.
If you need large storage spaces, same observation, this is a product that will satisfy your expectations. The company announces capacities of up to 8TB with, most certainly, versions in 4TB, 2TB and 1TB. It’s hard to imagine such a product being available in 500 GB.
On the other hand, the small surprise concerns the cooling system of the product which is active. You will have to deal with a small blower fan on the top of the radiator. Like a graphics card, it will pull cool air from one side to let the hot air out on the other.
All that remains is to know the price and the launch date, things on which ADATA has not yet communicated.
