On April 16, Intel launched its new Core 3 Series processors. These featured entry-level configurations with up to six cores. Well, this series of CPUs, dubbed Wildcat Lake, is now available in a first Intel laptop. The machine in question boasts a particularly attractive finish!

Wildcat Lake: Intel’s entry-level CPUs spotted in a laptop!

A small 6-core CPU, ideal for everyday use!

With this machine, we find a laptop equipped with a total of six cores, two P-Core and four E-Core. There’s also a small NPU with 17 TOPS to support local AI performance, but it’s no match for some Panther lake CPUs with NPUs of up to 50 TOPS. Finally, we have a small graphics section equipped with two Xe3 cores, ideal for multimedia content playback and for managing the machine’s display.

But what’s interesting about this series is the management of power consumption, which can go way down. PL1 is at 17W, while PL2 ( boost consumption) reaches 35W. For continuous performance, consumption is 22W, and the CPU can be lowered to 11W for semi-passive operation.

A beautiful finish:

The laptop presented here is a model that comes straight from Intel. The rear of the screen features a colored cover, while the chassis is made of aluminum. For a PC equipped with an entry-level CPU like this one, it’s very high quality… All the more so since it adopts semi-passive ventilation management, an interesting point since there’s nothing more unpleasant than the noise of a laptop‘s ventilation.

But the avowed objective with these machines is to titillate Apple in the $599 sector, which offers the very popular MacBook Neo.
