During CES, Thermaltake announced its Retro case series. This series adopts an old-fashioned design, typical of 90s cases, but with a modern chassis and integration capabilities. The series once again benefits from an announcement from the manufacturer. But this time, the wait to market shouldn’t be much longer.
Retro 260 & 360: cases for mounting sleepers!
The smaller of the two :
The 260 model is the smaller of the two. This translates into dimensions of 216 (W) x 432 (D) x 422 (H) mm. These dimensions enable this model to accommodate motherboards in micro-ATX and mini-ITX formats. On the other hand, the motherboard tray has no openings that would make it compatible with inverted connector models.
Otherwise, there’s enough space to mount a 165 mm-high CPU ventirad and 370 mm-long graphics cards. As for the power supply, with a depth of 220 mm, there’s plenty of room for that too.
The ventilation will be able to accommodate nine 120 mm fans, as well as watercooling radiators of up to 240/280 mm at the top.
The 360 model supports ATX motherboards!
The 360 model is a case in the same vein, but slightly larger. This translates into dimensions of 235 (W) x 467 (D) x 493 (H) mm. Inside, the motherboard support isATX-compliant, with compatibility for models with reversed connectors. Component compatibility is also improving:
- CPU fan: 170 mm
- Graphics card: 400 mm
- Power supply: 275 mm
The same goes for ventilation, with twelve 120 mm fan slots. Watercooling compatibility goes up to 360 mm this time.
Of course, we still find this front panel equipped with a fake floppy drive. There’s also a fake optical drive that can be replaced by a 6″ screen kit marketed by the brand itself.
Prices as yet unknown:

For the moment, we still don’t know the retail prices of these cases. Let’s hope the brand doesn’t follow Silverstone’s example and charge dearly for its retro design, since the FLP02 in tower format retails for over €200 at the very least!
