Wildcat Lake: a 1516-pin soldered mobile CPU?

Numerous entries referring to a future generation of Intel processors have been discovered in a customs database. These are processors belonging to the Wildcat Lake family, a series which, from the information displayed, appears to be aimed at the entry-level market. The database refers to the socket used and the size of the processor package.

Wildcat Lake: the socket and package size mentioned in a customs database!

Wildcat LakeAs you can see, these entries from October all display the name Wildcat Lake and the socket followed by dimensions. Clearly, this generation of CPUs is expected to exploit an FCBGA-1516 socket. These processors will be soldered to the motherboard, as is often the case with mobile models. What’s more, the socket has fewer pins than recent mobile processors. In fact, it’s somewhere between an N100 (BGA-1262) and a Core 7 150U (BGA-1744).

What’s more, the package size is rather compact at 35×25. All this points to a generation of CPUs focused on the entry-level sector. By way of comparison, an N100 is 35×24. We know right away where we stand.

As for their configuration, for the moment we have nothing tangible. But in one of the InstLatX64 publications, assumptions were made about these processors. It was assumed that the CPUs would be engraved in Intel 18A, with a maximum of 2 P-Cores and 4 LPE-Cores. The graphics part has yet to be determined, however. By way of comparison, Panther Lake would benefit from 4 P-Core and 4 LPE-Core and 18A graphics. As for the process, it would also benefit from 18A, as officially announced.
