If Nvidia really intends to release a 3090 Ti, it’s not long to wait before an announcement according to our little finger that talks to us a lot 😉 Indeed, it is very likely that the greens will take the floor during the first part of December to make some announcements. We know that the “revolutionary” RTX 2060 12GB will be launched on December 7 but the brand should also talk about the other cards it intends to unveil during CES 2022. The RTX 3090 Ti would be among them.
An RTX 3090 Ti announced soon?
Thanks to the developments delivered by Micron, this card could potentially use 16GB modules (2GB) with a speed of 21 Gbps. Besides a theoretical gain in performance, the use of these modules should simplify the design of the card. Indeed, only 12 modules will be enough and this will allow to avoid having chips located under the backplate of the card. However, this does not mean that the active cooling of the rear part of the card will disappear. The GDDR6X will still heat up and this new card could draw 100W more than the “classic” 3090.
RTX 3090 Ti: 1TB/s bandwidth mark blown up
Because in addition to the memory, the 3090 Ti should be the first card to integrate a full GA102 GPU with 10752 CUDA cores (bye bye dreams of a Titan?). With its new GDDR6X and its 384-bit wide memory bus, the card will be able to exceed the 1Tb/s bandwidth wall. The TDP should be around 450W and the price will obviously be spicy. We will avoid talking about availability for the moment. This 3090Ti should arrive in January, during CES 2022, after the launch of RTX 3080 12GB and RTX 3070 Ti 16GB that we have already talked about.
