In an interview with The Verge, an Intel spokesperson answers various questions put to him. Among them is one concerning a possible recall campaign, to which the company answers in the negative: no, there will be no recall campaign for 13th and 14th generation processors. In fact, we’ve learned that there won’t be one either.

It has to be said that recall campaigns often take place when a batch of faulty or defective product is released. This is not quite the same situation. In fact, there’s every reason to believe that the Intel processors currently in circulation comply with the blue giant’s specifications. It’s over time that instability problems appear, sometimes more or less rapidly.

For this reason, Intel, in the interview granted, is confident about the patch in preparation, although the company continues to examine all situations to ensure that the concern is really resolved. In any case, chips already affected will have to be returned for after-sales service.

In the meantime, we recommend that you update your bios and apply the default profile settings to limit the risks. Of course, when the new patch is deployed, you’ll need to update your bios again.
