Thermalright revisits one of its classic heatsinks and adapts it for the new AMD and Intel platforms. With the Ultra 120 Extreme Evo Rev.5, the brand adapts its iconic heatsink to the latest sockets , while the powerful fans promise excellent cooling performance.
Ultra 120 Extreme Evo Rev.5: the worthy heir to a legendary series!
A new version with 2026 sauce!
Clearly, this heatsink doesn’t come out of nowhere, as it has the onerous task of honoring a series that dates back to… 2006. In fact, the first model in the series was launched in 2006, with wider availability the following year. In any case, it boasted solid performance thanks to its six heatpipes and dense network of aluminum fins, elements that are taken up again by this Rev.5.
More precisely, we find here a rather compact heatsink measuring 132 (W) x 110 (D) x 157 (H) mm, including its fans. The unit also features an eccentric base to minimize impact on the memory. The base is made of nickel-plated copper, with six heat pipes running through it.
Ventilation is provided by two 120×25 mm fans. The first, a TL-N12-R9, operates at up to 2400 rpm and generates a maximum airflow of 85.35 CFM, while static pressure rises to 2.95 mmH2O. In contrast, the second fan, a TL-N12R-R13, will see its performance slightly lower than that of the first, despite a similar speed. We’re talking about an airflow of 83.2 CFM and a pressure of 1.87 mmH2O. Probably an inverted-blade version.
Finally, as for socket support, this model will be mounted on LGA-115x/1200/1700/2000 and AMD AM4/5.
No price yet!
The price of this model has not yet been announced. As for availability, it’s hard to say whether this model will reach France. But lately, Thermalright products have been available outside Amazon and its marketplace. A good part of the manufacturer’s catalog can be found on the LDLC group’s boutiques. Last but not least, Thermalright is available in black and white.
