Toughpower GT: 1200W in 14 cm depth!
Until now, high-power power supplies were synonymous with large casings, but we’re forced to admit that this is no longer the case. Indeed, with its latest blocks, Thermaltake is offering us 1200W blocks that fit into a 14 cm deep casing. Despite this, the whole package complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. The unit also has a 12V-2×6 connector for powering RTX 40 and RTX 50.
On the electrical side, we have 80 Gold certification. Of course, all the electrical protections are present. These include OCP, OVP, UVP, OPP, SCP and OTP. Cooling is provided by a 120 mm fan, which is claimed to be silent. What’s more, there’s a switch on the back of the block to force semi-passive operation.
As far as connections are concerned, whether you opt for the 1000 or 1200W model, you’ll find the same cables. These feature a single 24-pin, two EPS12V 4+4-pin for the CPU and five PCIe 6+2-pin. Of course, we have our 12V-2×6 as well as six SATA and four Molex.
All that remains is to see what the price will be, but in the meantime we know that the warranty is 5 years. As for colours, black and white versions have been announced.
