Torrent Compact: the middle size in Fractal’s range!

Earlier this morning, we told you about the Torrent Nano, an ITX version of the first Torrent. Now it’s time to talk about the intermediate version, the Torrent Compact.

Torrent Compact: it’s still pretty big!

Fractal Design Torrent Compact Compared to the “classic” Torrent, this model is still more compact. Indeed, it displays 222 (W) x 450 (D) x 467 (H) mm against 242 (W) x 544 (D) x 530 (H) mm for the original model.

Internally, we will have a lot of space and the installation of E-ATX motherboard (274 mm wide) will not be a problem. For the rest, we will have 330 mm for the graphics card, 210 mm for the power supply and 174 mm for the CPU cooling unit. So we lose a little in length on these three components compared to the first model.

As far as watercooling is concerned, this model is compatible with radiators up to 360 mm in the front. At the bottom, there will be room for 240/280 mm against a small 120 mm at the rear. Of course, at the top, no space is available, this is where the power supply is installed.

The fan capacity remains rather classic with the support of four mills in 140 mm and six in 120 mm. On the other hand, it is distinguished by the basic presence of two units in 180 mm as standard. Yes, this series is airflow oriented!

We finish briefly with the storage that can embark a 3.5″/2.5″ unit as well as three 2.5″ SSDs. Also, we have the right to assistance for the cabling in the form of velcro or a support for graphics card.

Finally, the selling price will be 147,90 € for this model.
