After long discussions and numerous rumors, the RTX 3060 12GB, a card launched in 2021, is back on the market. But not in all markets. It has just been spotted in China. Before it makes its way around the globe?

Recent leaks, the reliability of which varied according to source, mentioned a planned reappearance in July. As we previously reported, this availability has materialized more quickly than originally forecast. According to information relayed by Board Channels, the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB memory is now reappearing on the mainland Chinese market, marking a significant comeback after a period of unavailability.

A grandmother at the same price as the RTX 5060?

Specifically, this would be the Colorful Battle-Ax GeForce RTX 3060 DUO 12GB V2 model, which is making its commercial launch to the general public. The main concern here is, of course, the price. The RTX 3060 12GB was launched in 2021 at a price of $329, and can be found on the Chinese market for between $325 and $345. Should we be crying scandal when the RTX 5060, albeit in 8GB, is currently available for slightly over €300? Obviously, it’s the European price that will be up for discussion if this card is to reach all markets. The latest rumors still seem to point to mass production in July and a global arrival in the wake through the Colorful, ASUS, MSI and GALAX (Palit?) brands .

RTX 3060 12GB: What for?

The initial aim of this return to the market was to temper prices that had become excessive, and to give an option back to those who want to build themselves an affordable PC. Nvidia put Samsung back in charge of chip production, using a highly mature and cost-effective process. But with a price almost equivalent to that of the 5060 8GB, we can legitimately ask a few questions. To make a definitive judgment, we’ll have to wait for the still theoretical arrival of the card on our local markets.
